    Event Schedule

    Friday, January 31st

  • Outdoor Roda & Reception: It starts around 5 PM at Cuba Street (To be confirmed).

  • If weather conditions are not suitable, we may move indoors to Mai Dojo. (129 Adelaide Road, Mount Cook)

  • The Dress Code is Capoeira Abada (White), Resistencia t-shirt, and Corda (if you have one).

  • After the opening Roda, we typically go to a nearby restaurant for dinner. This is optional and not included in the Event Ticket.

    Saturday, February 1st

  • Workshops: Various workshops throughout the day starting around 9 - 10 am, including music seminars and rodas, for kids and adults at *Newtown School Hall* (indoors, beside the Hospital).

  • Bathroom, Training area, and cooking facilities are available.

  • Lunch break: BYO. Nearby shops and supermarkets are available. If you have suggestions, we can prepare lunch for ourselves, and you can skip buying lunch outside.

  • Dinner Gathering: Participants can contribute to a shared meal, ingredients/snacks.
    Please bring a dish or ingredients such as potato salad, meat, fish, finger food, rice, pasta or any drink (juices, soda, water). We will organise a supermarket shopping trip for those coming from Marlborough on Saturday morning.

  • Lunch and dinner are not included in the event ticket.

  • Dress Code: Comfortable attire—preferably Capoeira t-shirts and pants (various colours allowed: black, yellow, green, etc.).

  • Bring all your Capoeira music instruments to the event on this day.


    Sunday, February 2nd

  • Morning Session: Workshops at *Mai Dojo*. (9-10 am approx.)

  • Maculele class and training sessions.

  • Lunch break: BYO

  • Dress Code: Capoeira pants and group t-shirt (any colours - Preferably all white).

    Graduation Ceremony: 2 pm onwards

  • Dress Code: Wear all-white Capoeira uniforms (Mandatory). If needed, laundry service could be arranged on Saturday night.

  • Feel free to invite friends and family to attend this final part of the event.

  • Event Conclusion: Wrap-up at *Mai Dojo* around 5-6 PM.

  • BBQ Celebration: After a short break, a BBQ will be held at a location to be confirmed, ending around 8-9 PM.

  • Participation in the BBQ is optional for those needing to catch flights or make other travel arrangements.

    Important Information

  • Tickets are Required: Only event ticket holders can access workshops, rodas, and meals.

  • Unpaid guests can attend the opening roda on Friday and Sunday after 2 PM for the graduation ceremony only.

  • Media Release: By sending the Payment, you agree to appear in photos and videos shared on social media and printed posters.

  • We cannot guarantee that you will remain out of images

  • Underage Participants: Parents or caregivers of children under 18 who are not participating in our training sessions will receive a Spectator Pass to attend the event free of charge. They are responsible for the health and safety of their children and must supervise them at all times.

    Travel and Accommodation

  • Travel Tips: Flight tickets are cheaper than ferry tickets (26/Oct). Air NZ and Sounds Air.

  • Please book early for better rates.

  • We can arrange accommodation for those who confirm their attendance for the event before Christmas 2024. After this date, accommodation must be arranged independently.

  • Attendance confirmation is established upon payment for the event.
